With an area of just 41 km², Saas-Fee is not exactly one of the biggest places in the
world, but it’s definitely one of the greatest.

Like an oyster shell protecting its pearl, Saas-Fee is watched over by 13 mountains over
4000 metres high, and by another seven somewhat smaller giants. The Pearl of the
Alps is famous for its gorgeous setting at 1800 m above sea level, for its breathtaking
panoramic views, for its ever-punctual snow, which sticks around until well into the spring,
and for its long hours of sunshine.
But Saas-Fee, one of the best-loved ski resorts in Switzerland, is more than just a treat
for the eyes – your nose will also love it because the village is completely car-free. This
makes it a particularly safe and pleasant destination for children, who often thank us
by adorning the village with artistic snow sculptures. Our own masterpiece is our vast
network of pistes that stretches 145 km. The wide range of runs are suitable for all levels
and tastes – from beginners right through to the professional skiers and snowboarders
who come here to train from all over the world. Hardly surprising, then, that 18 000 skiers
picked Saas-Fee from 40 top ski areas and crowned it «Best Ski Resort 2010» in the
category «snow reliability»
